If you’re familiar with Greek mythology, you’ll know the story of Jason and the Argonauts and their quest to find the Golden Fleece. Why is this relevant you ask? Because the HL7 organizations selected this name for a new technical group as a nod towards the ‘impossible task’ (of finding the fleece).
The folks at HL7 have put together a team of 11 organizations (the Argos), vendors and providers, to address the recommendations of the JASON Task Force. Their mission impossible — to advance the development and adoption of an interoperability standard. This standard is called FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources).
