Medical Device Integration

Medical Device Integration is the process of connecting devices used in a care facility (i.e a hospital or veterinary clinic) to an EHR. Some of the more common medical devices used a hospital setting include vital sign monitors and smart pumps. Connecting medical devices to an EHR can lead to substantial benefits for care facilities, such as: saving nurses time, eliminating redundant tests, allowing doctors to access test results sooner, and reducing adverse drug events.
